Give A Child A Hope
Supporting the Revival Centre in Matugga, Uganda
Registered charity:1153184
Our charity ‘Give A Child A Hope’ is based in Ilkley, West Yorkshire, and we work in partnership with Bishop Ivan Lugoloobi and Madam Allen Ssekindi and the team at the Revival Centre in Matugga, Uganda. Our main focus is to support around 150 of the most disadvantaged and needy children, paying for their education and welfare needs, whilst supporting them in a loving environment. To help build their self-esteem and give them aspirations for the future, Bishop Ivan calls these children our 'Champions'. Education is fundamental to the children’s well-being, giving them a better understanding of the world, improving their chances of getting a good job or starting their own business.
The Revival Centre provides approximately 600 children with a nursery, primary and secondary education. Many children need to board during term times, which is typical for schools in Uganda. The pupils return to family and home communities for the vacations. The Revival campus also has a medical clinic, which ensures that the children stay healthy and this facility also serves the local community, as does the Revival Church.

Mission Statement
Our charity's aim is to prevent or relieve poverty in Uganda by providing or assisting in the provision of education, vocational skills training, and healthcare to children and through supporting impoverished and vulnerable families. In particular by working to support these purposes within the Revival Centre in the town of Matugga. Also, to advance the education of school pupils in the UK and in Uganda by providing input to curriculum projects, by fostering global citizenship and mutual understanding, and by assisting the development of partnerships between schools in the UK and in Uganda, in particular but not exclusively by building on the school partnerships already established between the Revival Centre Schools in Matugga and schools in North and West Yorkshire.
